Rib Knit Cowl Pattern

seeded rib knit cape or cowl pattern from kimberlees korner

This knitting pattern is for a seed stitch rib knit cowl.  This cowl can also be worn as a cape when pulled down over the back and shoulders – a very versatile accessory to add to your wardrobe or knit for a gift.

This pattern is worked on circular knitting needles so there is no seam.  The pattern looks the same on both sides so it is reversible.  The finished cowl is approx. 34 in. around and 12.75 in. wide – it is very stretchy because of the rib stitch.

The cowl is worked on size US 10 circular knitting needles – you will need to know how to use circular knitting needles and join in the round, knit and purl to make this pattern.  The yarn used is a #4 medium weight worsted yarn – I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn and the cowl is very soft.  You need approx. 350 yards of yarn to make this project.
