Essentrics Workout

Essentrics® is a full body workout that rapidly changes the shape of your body through a dynamic combination of strengthening and stretching.  The technique develops flexible and strong muscles with immediate changes to your posture. The workout is also known as Classical Stretch, created by Miranda Esmonde-White. It is a popular fitness program broadcast on many local PBS stations.

Essentrics® is a full body workout perfect for men and women of all ages and fitness levels.  The workout is low impact, done in bare feet and the only equipment needed is an exercise mat.

Essentrics® will:

  • Rebalance your body
  • Unlock tight joints
  • Improve your posture and balance
  • Change the shape of your body
  • Increase your flexibility and overall strength

This workout is a dynamic, full-body workout that engages all the muscles plus your joints – leaving you feeling energized, youthful and healthy.

You can watch a short YouTube video to see part of an Essentrics® workout that tones and thins the waist.  A complete Essentrics® workout tones the entire body and is usually 45 to 60 minutes long.  Click on highlighted YouTube text to see video.

What some of my current class participants are saying about the class:

“Essentrics is a great class for everyone.  It combines stretch and strength.  It also helps with balance.  Some days I come to class with pain, but its gone by the end of class.  Highly recommend this workout – Great teacher. ”  -Diane N.

“This is my first Essentrics class.  I’m 75 and my back doctor told me to start stretching so I signed up for the class and have really enjoyed it.  It is a slow, gentle stretching and works all your muscles and joints.  It also helps with flexibility and balance.  My back doctor has recommended I keep it up.  Plus, she plays great music during the class and you get to do the workout in bare feet!”  -Wayne D.

“Its a really, really good class.  I took the free class and thought “This Is Too Easy”- 10 minutes later I thought “Darn, I Can’t Keep Up”  That’s how I knew I needed this class.”  -Robert S.

“It’s a great workout of both muscle strength and flexibility.  And the stretch is like nothing I did before.  It seems easy but highly effective.  Some days I come with back or ankle pain and its gone by the end of the class!  It’s really amazing!  And the teacher is great, too!”   -Carol L.
